The company worked on the development
During World War II, BMW automobile production
was halted. The company worked on the development of jet engines, large radial
aircraft engines, and rocket engines for the German government. Because of
BMW's involvement with rockets, the Munich
factory was dismantled after the war. Most other facilities were damaged beyond
repair.
